This website has been developed to assist Australian pear growers make informed decisions about pear production in their orchard.
The aim is to bring together information and knowledge gathered as part of the Adoption of Intensive Pear Production project jointly funded by the Victorian Department of Primary Industries (DPI), Horticulture Australia Limited (HAL) and Apple and Pear Australia Limited (APAL). This project ran from June 2005 to June 2009.
The site doesn't provide 'recipes' or claim to have all the answers. There already exists a vast resource of information about pear production. Rather than reinvent the wheel this site it looks to support growers by detailing the important components of intensive pear production and providing links to information from Australia and around the world.
